Final Deadline Reminder

The deadline now looms very near, but here's a little extension for you! I'll be keeping the AO3 collection open for submissions until an hour before reveals — it's not much, but it still gives you an extra day if you need it. Also, if you're posting your work somewhere else, don't forget to give me the link so that I can include it in the roundup post.

Apologies to those who have contacted me during the last few days! My ISP went down over the holidays, and I just got back online. I'm working on getting caught up and responding ASAP, so please hang on just a little while longer.

Thank you for running this and thank you BIG TIME for the extension! I had planned for hours of writing-time yesterday and then a situation occurred at work which radically changed the time I got to go home...and since last night I've been so worried about today's deadline...me with my unwritten plotbunny.

I need to see the numbers to do the time calculations. What time (said as in GMT or in CST) is the new deadline and is that for December 30 or December 31?

It's going to go live at essentially midnight GMT on Jan 1 according to the original post about this, which for you is 6 hours earlier so 6:00 pm CST Dec 31st. The new due date/time is now one hour before that which would be 5pm CST Dec 31.

That sounds right -- and I'm aiming to have it done before the FWF Virtual Open Bar opens, so my "personal" deadline is by 3:00 PM CST.

LOL, considering how cracky my Cocktail Hour fic is turning out to be, I might even be better off finishing it after I start drinking with my FWF friends!

...Well, I am so, so glad I got that done in time. Because I *definitely* had done the time conversion wrong to begin with and thought we had an extra hour instead of a while extra day.

Sorry about that! It's one of the reasons why I always try to give an extension, since it can help salvage time-zone confusions. But good job on finishing, yay!

(torino10154 has already been kind enough to help you, but I just want to add that the deadline will always be the same in my events -- because I remember you asking me to convert the time for you during the previous challenge too. Hopefully that helps a little, so you don't have to stress about it again! It should always be this time.)

Oh no, I had a blast, I was done by Christmas....the beta process was a bit of a race but eh, it would have been anyway!

Yes, although my beta said earlier, "I read over the fic again and it's really nice now, all the angsting paid off!" and I'm sitting here like......who was angsting, I was just doing what I always do when deadlines loom to close which is why I try to avoid those things. XD

Still working on my fic and really enjoying the writing of it. You have more than once inspired me to write fic that never would have occurred to me without your themes and prompts, and which I have vastly enjoyed writing. I do expect to have this posted before the 5:00 PM CST deadline.

As far as future deadlines, when you say "it should always be this time" does "this" mean an hour before the collection opens -- like today's deadline -- or do you mean the original deadline before you extended it?

And, uh... both? Haha, sorry to be confusing, but what I meant was that the original deadline will always be midnight GMT, and I'll always try to throw in this kind of mini-extension of an extra day (or 23 hours, to be specific).
